Fuel Dock ("the App") is a mobile app, developed by Rainfall Software ("we", "us"), that helps boaters log trips and fuel fills, view usage statistics, and locate nearby marine fuel docks. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Information We Collect
Location Data
With your permission, the App accesses your device's GPS location to show your position on the map and calculate distances to nearby fuel docks. This location data is used only on your device, in real time, to power the map feature — it is not transmitted to us, stored on any server, or shared with any third party. You can revoke location access at any time in your device's settings; the map will simply be unable to show your position or nearby-dock distances.
Trip and Fuel Fill Logs
Information you enter into the App — trip names, dates, distances, fuel dock names, fuel volumes, and prices — is stored only in a local database on your device. We do not have access to this data, it is never transmitted to us or any third party, and it is not backed up to any cloud service. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data, permanently deletes this information.
Unit Preferences
Your chosen measurement system (imperial or metric) is stored locally on your device only.
Usage Analytics
The App may collect basic, aggregated usage and diagnostic information — such as which features are used, how often the App is opened, app crashes, and general device information (device model, operating system version) — to help us understand how the App is used and to improve its reliability and features. This information is not linked to your name or any other personally identifying information, and is not used for advertising.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not require you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information. The App does not display advertising, and does not sell your data or use it for ad targeting.
How Fuel Dock Locations Are Loaded
To show fuel docks on the map, the App downloads a public, static list of fuel dock locations from our website. This request does not include your location, device identifiers, or any personal information — it simply retrieves the same publicly available list for every user of the App.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. The App does not require an account and does not store your trip, fuel fill, or location data on any server. Aggregated, anonymized usage/diagnostic information described above may be processed by a third-party analytics provider on our behalf, solely to help us understand and improve the App — it is not sold or shared for advertising purposes.
Data Retention & Your Choices
- Trip and fuel fill logs remain on your device until you delete them in the App, or uninstall the App.
- Location permission can be granted or revoked at any time from your device's system settings.
- Because we do not collect any personal data on our servers, there is no account or server-side data for us to export or delete on your behalf.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above.
